About

Let's start your Mum in Tech Journey together!

But first, let me say Hola!

My name is Margarita, a creative exploring Software and Cloud Engineering to build powerful interactive experiences and solutions that consumers want to engage with.

I’m a Content Marketer, Web Developer and Branding Photographer based in Victoria, Australia (originally from Peru).

Why did I start in Tech?

In early 2019, I decided to get into tech after being involved in the organisation of Tech/Video Game events for secondary school students in regional Victoria, as well as, undertaking some work in developing websites for some small businesses and working in digital marketing.

I realised that technology, and the way we use it, is changing our lives and businesses are increasing their involvement with tech as well.

Knowing that the amount of Women in Technology is not very high, this inspires me to be part of the change.

Also, as a migrant and a mum, I thought it would be a good idea to become a role model and jump into tech and study after having a good career in Marketing.

My journey in Tech

I started a Diploma of IT (Coding Bootcamp) in 2019, and since then it has been fun and challenging. I have learnt a lot of things in a short period; it has been overwhelming but exciting to see the potential of all this technology.

Recently I have enrolled in an AWS Course/Certification - to build my skill set to understand how cloud services work.

Let's learn together!

Thanks to my experience, I have worked with different mums advising them on marketing and the use of technology for their businesses and how to power up their personal branding as I am Image Consultant at @beverlyic. ⁣

However, something that always came up in my consulting sessions, especially for mums, who just started their Tech journey, was confidence. Most of the time this related to the lack of support and clarity. Learning to code as an adult is tough! Learning to code as a mum can seem like a mission, impossible at times.

And after struggling myself to learn to code and not being able to keep up with everything, I wanted to give up so many times. Because of this, I felt the need to create a space to share our experiences and cheer each other up.

That's why I decided to start Mum in Tech to share my experiences and everything that I have learnt on my tech journey. A Space for us to grow and learn together.

And this is what I want to do here helping YOU, mama, to stay positive, to fight for your Tech dream career and encourage you to invest time in yourself and personal development while learning all the tech skills you need to succeed in Technology!

Are you ready?
